Share of Answers
The percentage of answers, across a declared prompt set, engine set, and run count, in which a brand was cited. The headline number behind every leaderboard on this site.
Definition
Share of answers, also called citation share, is the percentage of measured answers in which a brand was cited, out of a declared prompt set run across a declared set of engines and a declared number of runs. It is always reported against those three declared inputs; a share without them is not a comparable number.
Citation share varies enormously by engine and by language for the identical brand and category. Published measurement on this site found swings of more than 25 percentage points for one brand across different chat engines, and as much as 15 points across languages, which is why a share is always labeled by exactly which engine, language, and run count produced it, never blended into one figure.

Citation
A brand or domain named, linked, or otherwise identified as a source inside an AI engine's answer to a prompt. The base unit every score on this site is built from.
Confidence Interval
The range a repeated score could plausibly fall within, computed by resampling the runs behind it. Ships with every score built from more than one run; a single run gets a snapshot label instead.
Engine Family
The split between chat engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude) and Search-AI surfaces (Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Bing Copilot). Never blended into one score.
